Pure soy is gluten-free. You must be careful with products that contain soy as main ingredient because many of these products also include gluten ingredients. Soy is used as an ingredient in foods such as soy sauce, soy milk, sweets, and as a meat substitute.

Gluten-free soy options:

1. Soy sauce

Ordinary soy sauce contains gluten. Traditionally, soy sauce is obtained from four main ingredients: soy, wheat, salt, and water. There are several options for gluten-free soy sauce, which use rice instead of wheat. If you cannot find gluten-free soy sauce, tamari is a good gluten-free substitute, made with soy, is thicker and less salty, but with a stronger flavor than soy sauce. As always, it is recommended that you read the ingredient label before you buy and eat.

2. Soy milk

Usually, soy milk is gluten-free, but there are some variants that contain gluten. Different manufacturers can use flavors and preservatives in addition to soy. Check the ingredient label before consuming soy milk.

3. Soy flour

Soy flour is created by grinding soy until it reaches a fine powder and is gluten-free.

4. Soy lecithin

Soy lecithin is a gluten-free food because it is not made from wheat, rye, or barley. While soy lecithin does not contain gluten, lecithin additives may contain gluten. Lecithin is derived from many different plant sources, including soy.
